Participants will learn the prevalence of interpersonal violence, personal biases that may impede treatment, the role of the health care professional in reporting interpersonal violence and assisting victims when minors are involved, special populations that are at increased risk for experiencing interpersonal violence and much more.
This course will focus on Empowerment Approaches to Assessing and Addressing IPV.
This 2 hour CE course meets the Domestic Violence Requirement for licensure for the Board of LCSW, MFT & MHC.

The purpose of this course is to educate mental health professionals on the definition and prevalence of interpersonal violence (IPV). The training focuses on empowering both victims and perpetrators to end the cycle of abuse. Topics covered include identifying personal biases, barriers to care, assessment, treatment, safety planning, and resources available.
