Learning Objectives
> Participants will be able to define according to Florida Statute 381.028 (b), an “Adverse Medical Incident”.
> Participants will be able to describe a root cause analysis and name the 5 steps to complete a root cause analysis.
> Identify and describe a minimum of 3 methods for improving patient safety pertaining to mental health practice. (Supervision, Understanding scope of practice in your license from LF statute, intake documentation/clear boundaries)
> Participants will be able to describe a minimum of 2 types of sentinel events that are specific to mental health practice.
> Participants will be able identify a minimum of 2 prevention procedures to increase patient safety and reduce error probability. (Chart auditing tools, SWAT analysis)
